In recent years, the city of Langford has become a burgeoning tourism destination. The area has experienced massive growth, bringing in great new attractions, international cuisine, fun places to stay, and great shopping experiences. From elegant resorts to cute apartment hotels, the options for accommodations are aplenty. Plus, Langford’s bedroom community status makes it a great place to set up basecamp for South Island adventures.

Langford is roughly 20 minutes from downtown Victoria, 30 minutes from the Victoria International Airport (YYJ), and 35 minutes from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal.

Golfers can stay and play at the mountaintop Bear Mountain Resort, home to beautiful accommodations, challenging hillside courses, and luxurious amenities like the Amatista Spa. Golf, hike, bike, play tennis, dine, and relax, all in the beautiful community of Bear Mountain.

The now open Jordie Lunn Memorial Bike Park is where riders of all ages and abilities can play on a brand-new Velosolutions pump track, jump parks for all levels, a cyclocross track, and some short singletrack trails to experience what mountain biking is all about.

Despite being an urban community, the opportunity to recreate outside is endless! Surrounded by beautiful parks, like Thetis Lake Regional Park and Goldstream Provincial Park, pack an afternoon picnic or enjoy a scenic hike through dense forests and tranquil lakes. The Galloping Goose Trail and Sooke Hills Wilderness Park are both part of Canada’s The Great Trail, which meanders its way from Victoria to Nanaimo.
