The Storm Riders series aims to celebrate the strength of our industry while highlighting some of the many ways businesses have overcome the challenges resulting from COVID-19. We are proud to showcase how the following businesses have adapted while celebrating the people who are at the heart of what we do. In this post, we hear from Carmen Amberson at More Eatery.
The Idea for “More Eatery” was born from a need to create, celebrate and share beautiful food. My husband Joe was the Chef of a large Pub and I am the GM/CHEF/Wedding planner at Gowlland Harbour resort. when Covid hit things changed very quickly for us! Joe was laid off and I had to cancel 27 weddings. We were off for 1 harmonious week and 1 tense week and I said we need some positive to do! I quickly realized this was also going to be an amazing product for guests coming to stay at Gowlland Harbour Resort.
I am hoping that all members of our small community can come to a place where we can find a healthy and safe balance between protecting the community members and creating a friendly vibe for visiting guests.
Anyone can cook good food, and everyone should be eating good food!
Travel matters because it fills your soul with experiences and memories that help you get through the grind of the everyday!
Joe and I’s spark comes from years of hosting & Hospitality. We have been fortunate enough to receive so much support for the community we live in. When you do a creative based job you always spend so much time wondering what you are doing will be well received or wanted….. it is a very humbling experience to be continually supported by so many!
