Storm Riders: Pluvio Restaurant

The Storm Riders series aims to celebrate the strength of our industry while highlighting some of the many ways businesses have overcome the challenges resulting from COVID-19. We are proud to showcase how the following businesses have adapted while celebrating the people who are at the heart of what we do. In this post, we hear from Lily Verney-Downey at Pluvio Restaurant + Rooms in Ucluelet.

Why do you do what you do?

We have both worked in hospitality for our entire career and are passionate about providing an exceptional experience to our guests. We opened Pluvio restaurant + rooms so that we could create something that was truly unique to this area and take care of our guests from the start of their experience all the way through to the end.

What is your hope for the future of our region?

That we can maintain a balance between welcoming visitors to the region whilst protecting the integrity of the community and the amazing environment which we live in.

In your own words, please share “Travel matters because … “

It is a great way of learning about other places and people and appreciating everything that we have. Now whilst travel is more limited to our own backyard we have a great opportunity to learn more about our neighbouring communities and appreciate the wonders that we have access to at home.
