Take the Traveller Quiz Super, Natural British Columbia

It’s a hot ‘n balmy summer on the Island; the lakes, rivers, and beaches are warm and welcoming, and travellers are setting out into the Island’s thick and wild outback to go camping and exploring.

But with all this good weather, should come an increased respect for fire safety. We must note that as of July 18, 2018, a campfire ban has been initiated throughout the Vancouver Island region and the rest of British Columbia. This being said, this does not mean you’re stuck eating cold sandwiches, frosty dogs, and not-so-very-gooey smores. Lucky for you, we have a guide to three campfire-less ways to keep the ‘hot’ in ‘hot dog.’

Although Vancouver Island is known for her rugged beauty and thick wilderness, the Island has many easily accessible trails for those explorers with restricted mobility. We believe all should be able to experience the awe and beauty of the Island and so we thought it was only fair we share our list of the best wheelchair accessible trails on Vancouver Island.

Whether you’re worried about the restrictions on campfires or restrictions on your mobility, no need to fret; we want you to have the best summer ever! Read this month’s featured Island Moments articles to learn how your time on Vancouver Island is as awesome as it can be.
