Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts For The Tea Lover On Your List

Home to Canada’s only certified organic tea grower, Vancouver Island is a tea lover’s paradise. Whether you are looking for something small to add to your loved one’s growing tea collection or looking for a grand tea experience, our gift guide can help.

Island-Grown

Wow the tea lover in your life with locally grown and blended teas from Westholme Tea Company. Located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley, outside Duncan, Westholme Tea has been growing and blending their own teas since 2010. Not sure which tea to pick? They have hand-selected gift sets and gift cards.

Hornby Island Tea also supports small-scale organic farming. Best of all, you can sign up for their tea subscription service to have new teas delivered right to the doorstep of your giftee.

Loose Leaf Tea

There are amazing locally owned tea shops in communities across the Island, all eager to share their love of tea with experienced tea drinkers and newcomers alike. Whether you are looking for black tea, herbal tea, green tea, or rooibos, Silk Road Teas, Chari-Teas, Winston’s Tea Co, and Thay Tea can help you find the perfect blend. Don’t worry if you aren’t a tea drinker, the incredible staff are passionate about tea and can guide you through the intricacies of each blend. While you’re there make sure to add a tea infuser, teacup, teapot, or travel tumbler.

Tea and a Scone

For the tea lovers in your life who enjoy a few treats with their cup of tea, pick up a gift card from Murchie’s Tea and Coffee and Stonehouse Teas. Not only do they have amazing teas, they also have scrumptious scones, muffins, cookies, and cakes. Nothing goes better with tea than a freshly made scone.

Add Some Honey

Once you’ve found the perfect tea blend, sweeten it with some honey. Fredrich’s Honey and Country Bee Honey Farm are expert beekeepers and honey makers. From wildflower to mountain and lavender, you will find incredible flavours to complement any tea. While you’re there pick up a beeswax candle and some soap to add to your gift package.

Pair It With A Mug

No cup of tea is complete without the perfect mug. Give the gift of creativity by purchasing a gift certificate to Fired Up! where your family and friends can design and paint their own mugs. Or pick up a unique, hand-thrown mug from one of our many local potters. These can be found online, in places like Etsy, or in-town at a local art collective like Island-Ish or Artzi Stuff in Nanaimo, as well as Merge in Tofino.

Experience An Elegant Afternoon Tea

For the ultimate tea lover in your life, give the experience of an elegant afternoon tea at Fairmont Empress (note that the Empress will be closed for renovations from January to April, but you can purchase goods through their online shop until you can get a table in the spring), the White Heather Tea Room, and The Grand Hotel Nanaimo. Get dressed up and stick your pinky out while enjoying this traditional British pastime or get a gift certificate to indulge with them once we are able to meet in person and travel again.
