Storm Riders: Beach Fire Brewing

The Storm Riders series aims to celebrate the strength of our industry while highlighting some of the many ways businesses have overcome the challenges resulting from COVID-19. We are proud to showcase how the following businesses have adapted while celebrating the people who are at the heart of what we do. In this post, we hear from Laura Gosnell at Beach Fire Brewing and Nosh House in Campbell River.

Why do you do what you do?

Part of the drive to get up and work everyday is the express goal to be part of the momentum to make our home community vibrant and be part what makes people love where they live.  Campbell River is a stunning place to live and work with regards to its natural surroundings.  Being part of the culture and urban community that compliments our environment is a key part of why we chose to open the brewery. We wanted to be the social hub that brings people together and gives them a sense of place to share a pint and hash out those big ideas!

What is your hope for the future of our region?

I would love to see Campbell River as a cultural hub and travel destination.  We have such stunning outdoor experiences here and the potential for growth to round out those adventures with other attraction staples such as food, art and cultural destinations is exciting.

What do you most want people to know about your business?

I want people to know when they come to Beach Fire they are having a truly local, homegrown experience.  We support other local suppliers and makers, rotate local artists on our walls, and draw inspiration from the surrounding environment for our food and beer.  We also prioritize participating in partnerships that bring out the best in our community and make it such a rich place to live.
